Upstream ABL welcomes Gerard Donnelly in key business finance role
Upstream ABL, Northern Ireland’s leading provider of flexible funding solutions for business, has welcomed the appointment of Gerard Donnelly as Business Analyst in a further expansion of its team.
A former Credit and Risk Manager at Northern Ireland agri-technology firm Devenish Nutrition, Gerard has enjoyed a strong career in finance and insurance within the agri-food and manufacturing sectors and as an underwriter at Northern Bank, where he started his career.
The latest appointment adds new weight to Upstream ABL’s market strength since it completed a Management Buy Out (MBO) and secured £150 million of funding from London’s Pollen Street Capital. Since then, the Belfast-based company has partnered with a wide range of private sector businesses to support their ambitions to scale up, drive export growth and make strategic acquisitions.
Upstream ABL is the largest independent provider of Asset Based Lending (ABL) on the island of Ireland, providing funding through secured collateral across a range of fixed assets including premises, stock, machinery or fleet.
Welcoming Gerard to the team, Upstream ABL Partner Lewis McCallan said:
We’re delighted to welcome Gerard to our team of seasoned experts focused on delivering a range of financial solutions that create real growth opportunities for businesses which drive economic impact, create wealth and support jobs.
Demand for our advice and funding has been unprecedented since we launched earlier this year, and we’re really pleased that more businesses are waking up to the benefits of a dynamic funding solution that boosts liquidity, increases flexibility and creates opportunities few had thought possible.
